This exhibition was a multi-year collaborative effort between the McClung Museum, university representatives, and co-curators from four Federally Recognized Tribes: Cherokee Nation, Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, and The Muscogee (Creek) Nation.

The Mound
The Mound on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s campus is a conical mound within sight and walking distance of the Tennessee River. While the campus has developed around it, the Mound remains important to contemporary Native Nations.
